Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, and how to make us delete it. Short, because we collect very little.

Last updated 27 August 2026

We do not track you. This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and carries no advertising or tracking pixels. Nothing follows you around the internet after you leave. The one thing your browser stores for us is described under What your browser keeps, and it never leaves your device.

This policy covers selfmadelegendsz.com, operated by Self-Made Legends LLC, Missouri, United States.

What we collect

Only what you type into a form. Nothing is gathered in the background.

Newsletter

  • Your email address
  • The date and time, and the IP address you submitted from

The Legendary Pull

  • Your name and email address
  • City and state, and your social handle — both optional
  • Your video link and your written entry
  • The date and time, and the IP address you submitted from

Question of the Week

  • Which option you picked
  • What you wrote, if you chose “Something else”
  • The date and time, and the IP address you voted from

We do not ask for your name or your email to vote, and we do not want them. A vote is not a signup — voting never adds you to the newsletter and we cannot reply to you about it.

Contact form

  • Your name and email address
  • The topic, your order number if you give one, and your message
  • The date and time, and the IP address you submitted from

Orders

We never see your card number. Checkout runs on Stripe. Stripe takes your payment and shipping details and tells us what to send and where. Your card details never touch our server.

The IP address is recorded for one reason: to stop the same automated script submitting a form a thousand times. On the weekly poll it does a little more — it is how we keep the vote to one each, since we deliberately do not ask who you are. It is not used to identify or profile you, and it is never matched against anything else we hold.

What your browser keeps

When you vote in the weekly poll, your browser stores one small note to itself — which week’s question you last voted on. That is the entire contents. It is what stops the page offering you a ballot you have already filled in.

It never leaves your device. We cannot read it, it is not sent anywhere, and it is not shared between the sites you visit. Clearing your browser data removes it, and the poll still works perfectly without it.

Nothing else is stored in your browser by this site.

Why we collect it

  • Newsletter — to tell you when a drop is coming, because you asked us to
  • Pull entries — to read and judge them, and to contact the winner
  • Poll votes — to count them, and to decide what we make next
  • Contact messages — to answer you
  • Orders — to take payment and ship your order

We do not use your details for anything else, and we do not add you to the newsletter because you bought something or entered the Pull. Those are separate.

Where it goes

Form submissions are written to files on our own web server, in a directory that is blocked from the public web, and a copy is emailed to us. That is the whole system — there is no third-party marketing platform, no CRM, no data warehouse.

Who else sees it

We never sell your information. We never rent or trade it. Not now, not later.

A small number of companies handle parts of the job for us and see only what they need:

  • Stripe — payment and shipping details for orders
  • Our web host — stores the site and the submission files
  • Our print and fulfilment partner — your name and shipping address, to make and send your order
  • Shipping carriers — your name and address, to deliver it

We will also disclose information where the law requires it.

One thing worth telling you

This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. That means Google's servers receive your IP address when a page loads, as they would for any site using their fonts. We receive nothing from Google in return — no analytics, no profile, nothing. We mention it because it is the only outside company your browser contacts here, and you should know.

How long we keep it

  • Newsletter — until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it
  • Pull entries — 12 months after the month they were entered
  • Poll votes — kept as a record of what people asked for. There is nothing in them that identifies you.
  • Contact messages — 24 months, so we have the history if a problem comes back
  • Order records — as long as tax and accounting law requires

Your rights

Whoever you are and wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what we hold about you
  • Correct anything that is wrong
  • Delete it
  • Stop emailing you

Write to info@selfmadelegendsz.com and we will do it within 30 days. We will not ask you why, and we will not make it difficult.

Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe link. It works immediately.

California residents

You have the right to know what we collect, to have it deleted, and not to be treated worse for asking. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we never have. Use the same email address above.

Children

This site is not for children. You must be 18 or older to buy from us or to enter The Legendary Pull. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, write to us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Submission files are stored in a directory blocked from the web, and access to them is limited to the owner of the business.

We will not pretend any system is perfect. If personal information is ever exposed, we will tell the people affected promptly and plainly rather than quietly.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change is significant and affects information we already hold, we will email the people it affects.
